How to locate a good fishing spot

British Columbia has thousands of great places to go fishing. We have compiled a list of fishing spots that offer easy access with beginners in mind.

regions_map2.jpgHere are our suggested freshwater and tidal fishing spots around B.C. that may be a good starting point for families and others wanting to try sport fishing. Most offer reasonable access, shore or pier fishing, are close to communities and pretty good fishing.  For other suggestions on where you might go fishing in your local area, check with the folks in one of your local tackle shops or your local angling club.

Less than 16?...65 or older?

check out the Fishing Rules for a list of special lakes rivers and streams set aside for you. Hey kids....take your grandparents and check these out.

The government wharves generally have floats attached to them, and unless otherwise indicated, you can fish from these. Watch for and respect no fishing signs. If you are going to go fishing from a boat, make sure you have all necessary emergency gear including enough life jackets for everyone to wear.
