About

Who We Are

BC Family Fishing is a non-profit with a passion for protecting fishing and fisheries in British Columbia. We’re here to make sure future generations can enjoy the same amazing fishing experiences we’ve had. Fishing is part of our province’s heritage, and it’s more than just a pastime—it’s a way to connect with the outdoors and with each other.

Our mission is to preserve fish populations and their habitats. We want to make sure BC’s rivers, lakes, and oceans stay healthy. By focusing on conservation and responsible fishing, we can help ensure these resources are around for years to come.

What We Do

We work with a wide range of partners, from schools and local non-profits to governments and community groups. Education is at the heart of what we do. By teaching the next generation about fish conservation and sustainable fishing practices, we can make a lasting difference.

But it’s not just about classrooms. We also advocate for policies that protect fisheries and support sustainable fishing. When everyone—from governments to everyday anglers—works together, we can keep BC’s waters thriving.

Why It Matters

Fishing is about more than just catching fish. It’s about family, tradition, and being part of something bigger. When we protect BC’s fisheries, we protect that connection to nature and to each other.

By preserving our fish and waterways, we help maintain a healthy ecosystem. This benefits not only fish but everyone who depends on these waters. Whether you’re an avid angler or someone who just enjoys a peaceful day by the water, our work ensures that these experiences continue for generations to come.
